The NFCSN is an activity of The Principle Foundation, a non-profit organization that serves Christian Scientists. While The Mother Church is a financial contributor to the fund, the NFCSN is not an organ of The First Church of Christ, Scientist (The Mother Church) or any of its branches. The NFCSN regularly cooperates with Christian Science nursing facilities within the United States. The Principle Foundation board, staff, and volunteers are members of The Mother Church.
